Change to the Subclass 457 program

After 1 July 2013 it is possible to refuse a subclass 457 nomination if the tasks of the nominated occupation do not correspond to the tasks of en eligible occupation or the position associated with nominated occupation is not genuine. The requirement to meet the training benchmark is now an ongoing and enforceable. Sponsors will be obliged to keep records relating to training. The market salary assessment exemption threshold has been increased to $250,000.
