New 457 Local Market Test Requirement

From 23 November 2013, employers seeking to access the Subclass 457 visa programme to employ workers from outside of Australia, in prescribed occupations to fill a nominated vacancy in their business, must first test the local labour market to ensure that there is no suitably qualified and experienced Australian citizen or permanent resident to fill that position.

Exemptions to the labour market testing requirement will apply to some nominations.
